Media Alliance for Election Monitoring in Bangladesh (MAEM)


What is MAEM?

MAEM or Media Alliance for Election Reporting is an initiative of a group of non-governmental organisations working in the fields of journalism and mass communication. The alliance was formed keeping in mind the upcoming general elections in Bangladesh. Improving the quality of election reporting in the country is the main objective of all the activities being carried out by the alliance.

Members of MAEM

  • Bangladesh Centre for Development, Journalism and Communication (BCDJC)
  • Bangladesh Manabadhikar Sangbadik Forum (BMSF)

Besides, the organisations that are actively participating in different programmes of the alliance are:

  • Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU)
  • Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED)

Fifteen journalists from different newspapers in Dhaka and two each from all the districts have been preparing reports under the alliance.
